Sender Policy Framework, or SPF, is a verification system, that is employed to prevent the so-called e-mail spoofing where an e-mail message can be sent from one email, but to seem as being sent from a different, typically with the purpose to fraud the recipient in some way. When SPF protection is activated for a domain, a special record is created for it in the Domain Name System and all of the DNS servers worldwide receive it. The record includes all of the email servers that are permitted to send legitimate messages from an e-mail address part of the domain. When an email is sent, the first DNS server it goes to verifies the SPF record and in case the sending server is permitted, the message is forwarded to the target destination. When, however, the sending server doesn't exist in the SPF record for the particular domain, the message won't be sent and it will be removed. In the event that you employ this service, it will prevent third parties from sending spam messages that appear to have been sent by you.

SPF Protection in Cloud Web Hosting

SPF protection can be enabled for each domain name hosted in a cloud web hosting account on our cloud hosting platform with only a couple of clicks. The function is available in the Emails section of our hi-tech Hepsia Control Panel and all you need to activate it is to select one of your domain names from a drop-down menu and to type in the hostnames and the IPv4 or IPv6 addresses of the e-mail servers which will be approved to send messages from your email addresses. As an added option you may also restrict the email messages to be sent from your domain only if it has our MX records, in other words if our servers handle the e-mail addresses for it, not a third-party supplier. This option will give you the top degree of security, but it is not applicable if only your site is on our servers while the emails for the domain name are managed in a different place. Either way, the SPF protection service will keep your emails protected from being used for spam and/or scam purposes.

SPF Protection in Semi-dedicated Servers

If you host your domains in a semi-dedicated server account from us, you will be able to take advantage of the SPF protection feature as a part of the conventional group of services that you'll get with this type of hosting. Starting the protection requires only several simple steps within the Hepsia Control Panel, thus even in case you've never used this kind of feature before, you won't have any type of troubles. Using a really easy to work with interface, you will only need to insert the information of the mail server which will be permitted to send out messages from your addresses - its hostname ( and IP address (IPv4 or IPv6). As soon as the recently generated record propagates, no one will be able to fake any e-mail address for that particular domain and send messages from a server different from the one you have entered. This doesn't necessarily have to be our mail server, but when we take care of your e-mails, you are able to enable one more level of security by picking an option that email messages can be send out from addresses only in case the domain uses our MX records. Our tech support staff will be able to help you 24/7 in case you have any questions related to this service.
